The project
A custom Shopify app that combines mix-and-match bundle building with volume-tier pricing in a single admin panel. Shoppers choose products from a curated set, the app applies the right tier-pricing rule live (Buy 2 save 10%, Buy 3 save 15%, Buy 5 save 25%), and the bundle ships as one line item with linked inventory and clean reporting. Built on the new Shopify Functions API (Product Discount + Cart Transform), it works on PDP, collection pages, cart drawer, and checkout — no theme edits, no developer needed.

Mix-and-match bundle builder
Merchants curate a set of products customers can pick from to build their own bundle. Supports variants (size, color, flavor), per-product image galleries, required vs. optional slots, and minimum/maximum item rules — all configured from the admin.
Volume-tier pricing engine
Stack quantity-based rules: Buy 2 save 10%, Buy 3 save 15%, Buy 5 save 25%. Apply percentage or fixed-amount discounts, restrict tiers by collection, customer tag, or country, and combine with mix-and-match bundles in a single rule chain.
Bundle as one line item, with linked inventory
The bundle shows in the cart and checkout as a single line item at one price — but child products' inventory decrements automatically on sale. Refunds restore inventory per child SKU. Reports attribute revenue to both the bundle and its components.
Built on the new Shopify Functions API
Uses Shopify's Product Discount Function + Cart Transform Function — Wasm modules running on Shopify's edge with sub-50ms execution. Native to the new commerce platform; replaces the deprecated Shopify Scripts (sunset August 2025).
Storefront widget — PDP, collection, cart drawer
A theme app extension renders the bundle builder on any product page, collection page, or cart drawer. Pick from prebuilt widget templates — grid, slider, stepper, sticky bar — and customize fonts, colors, copy, and layout live from the admin. No theme code edits required.
Admin rule builder + Shopify Flow integration
Visual rule editor: stack mix-and-match + volume + customer-tag + scheduled rules (BFCM weekend, time-of-day, VIP-only) without writing code. Trigger Shopify Flow automations on bundle purchase — fire post-purchase emails, tag the customer, escalate high-AOV orders.
